A nail primer is an essential pre-treatment liquid used to chemically prepare the natural nail plate, ensuring maximum adhesion for acrylic, hard gel, and soak-off gel systems, which prevents premature lifting.
How to Use (Application Instructions):
For maximum adhesion and longevity, follow these steps precisely:
Nail Preparation: The nail plate must be properly filed and buffed to remove all shine. It must then be thoroughly cleansed and dehydrated (usually with alcohol or a specialized nail dehydrator).
Primer Application: Apply a thin, even coat of Primer only to the natural nail plate, avoiding skin contact.
Cure or Air-Dry: For Acid-Free Primer: Allow the product to air-dry for 30–60 seconds until the surface appears slightly sticky or matte. This leaves a tacky layer that acts like double-sided tape. For Acid Primer: Apply a single, tiny dot to the center of the nail. It will feather out on its own. Allow to air-dry completely until the surface looks chalky white. Do not touch or re-apply.
Continue Application: Once dried or cured according to the type of primer used, immediately proceed with the first layer of your chosen enhancement product (Base Coat, Builder Gel, or Acrylic).
Key Benefits:
Maximum Adhesion: Chemically adjusts the nail's pH level and/or creates a powerful, tacky bonding surface, which is critical for preventing the lifting of hard gels and acrylics.
Moisture and Oil Removal: Aggressively dehydrates the nail plate, eliminating trace moisture and natural oils that commonly cause product separation.
System Compatibility: Essential for creating the necessary link between the natural nail and highly resilient, less-flexible enhancement materials.
Long-Term Wear: Dramatically extends the life of the nail enhancement service, ensuring client satisfaction and reduced need for repairs.
Warnings and Safety Precautions:
Please adhere to professional safety standards to prevent irritation:
Avoid Skin Contact: Do not allow the product to touch the skin or cuticles as it is highly corrosive (in the case of acid primer) or a strong sensitizer (in the case of acid-free primer).
Ventilation: Use this product in a well-ventilated area to minimize the inhalation of strong vapors.
Application Quantity: Use Sparingly. A thin, single application is sufficient. Over-application can damage the nail or prevent proper bonding.
Storage: Store primers tightly capped and away from heat and direct sunlight to maintain chemical integrity and prevent accidental spillage.
Discontinue Use: If irritation, redness, or burning occurs, remove the product immediately and seek medical advice.
